Where there are no “days off” to keep capital’s traffic flowing

During the April 30 – May 1 holiday, as travel demand surged at the gateways of Hanoi, screens at the Traffic Control Center of the Hanoi Traffic Police Division remained lit around the clock, with continuous shifts ensuring uninterrupted operations. Through a system of 1,837 AI-powered cameras, all traffic developments are monitored in real time, enabling authorities to proactively detect and regulate traffic early and remotely. Beyond operational support, this technology also aids in handling violations: nearly 1,000 cases were recorded via the system during the four-day holiday. Behind the smooth traffic flow are silent efforts of officers working without days off, ensuring every journey for residents of the capital is safe and complete. Photo: Trung Nguyen – VNA
