A quick search for “Vietnam is calling” on TikTok reveals a myriad of clips capturing the excitement of visitors setting off for Vietnam, with short videos showing tourists holding their passports, wheeling their suitcases through airports or exploring Vietnam’s scenic landscapes, diverse cuisine and unique culture - all set to upbeat, catchy soundtracks.

Compared to last year, Vietnam has gained four new entries while four other universities improved their rankings.

On June 15, the Association for the Popularization and Exchange of Southeast Asian Languages in Japan held the 8th Vietnamese Language Proficiency Test in Tokyo. Notably, the test included Level 1 for the first time—the highest level in its framework.

Specifically, the Vietnamese students won three gold, three silver and two bronze medals at the 2025 APhO, which was held in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, from May 4-12.

The two gold medallists are Tran Trung Kien, a 12th grader from the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, who scored 169.25 points, and Nguyen Ngo Duc, a 12th grader from the Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted in Nghe An province, who scored 151.05 points.
