Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) has announced that it is coordinating with the Ministry of Public Security to provide free medical check-ups for around 15,000 workers across seven provinces and cities.

The programme is expected to benefit workers in enterprises and industrial zones of seven localities, including 4,000 in Ho Chi Minh City, and 2,000 each in Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An.

The free check-ups will run through the end of the first quarter of 2026. Each round of examinations will last 5–10 days, with an average of 400 workers served on each Saturday and Sunday.

Do Hong Van, deputy head of the Labour Relations Department at the VGCL, said ensuring the well-being and health of union members and workers has always been a core mission of trade unions, adding that this movement is part of activities to concretise this policy.

She highlighted the significance of the programme, noting that it helps improve the quality of human resources, and also serves as an important measure to protect workers’ rights and safety amid ongoing industrialisation and modernisation./.
