The ceremony begins with a torch relay to light the flame tower – a symbol of the Vietnamese nation’s aspirations. The torch was handed to Lieutenant General, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Nguyen Duc Soat, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, who shot down six enemy aircraft and became one of the heroic pilots of the VPA. 80th National Day Parade held in Hanoi
The grand military and civilian parade took place on September 2 morning at 6:30 am at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam’s National Day. This historic event, known as the A80 parade, is unprecedented in scale, featuring more than 15,680 officers and soldiers in 61 formations. The event also hosted contingents from invited countries - China, Russia, Laos, and Cambodia. VNA Photo
