Bau Ca Cai mangrove forest – a pristine and attractive “green lung” in Quang Ngai
The Bau Ca Cai mangrove forest in Thuan Phuoc village, Van Tuong commune covers over 100 hectares and is located about 40km northeast of Quang Ngai city center. From 2014 to 2016, the area (a brackish lagoon) was restored and expanded with millions of white mangrove trees under the project “Enhancing resilience to climate change impacts for vulnerable coastal communities in Vietnam,” implemented by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) in coordination with the Vietnamese Government and Quang Ngai province. Visitors can enjoy guided boat tours through the mangrove forest, observe birds and fish, and experience the pristine natural environment. Photo: VNA
