Phnom Penh (VNA) – CNC Television of Cambodia's Royal Group aired a special commentary programme on the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) on February 5, primarily inspired by the recent article by Party General Secretary To Lam.

The talk show focused on discussing and analysing the CPV’s 95-year journey of formation and development, highlighting its leadership role. The discussion featured journalist Khieu Kola, Senior Advisor to the President of the Club of Cambodian Journalists (CCJ), and a senior editor at CNC, as a guest speaker.

Kola expressed his appreciation for the Vietnamese Party leader's article, titled “Shining Vietnam”, which was published by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA).

Regarding the role and contributions of the Vietnamese Government and the CPV to global peace and security, the Cambodian journalist said that in his article, Lam emphasised a core mission for 2025, urging Party committees at all levels to focus their efforts and intellect on ensuring the country’s peace and stability, and fulfilling targets and tasks set by the Party. This means that the Government, the working class and farmers, and the CPV must ensure the maintainance of peace and resolve issues through peaceful measures.

For the East Sea issue, Vietnam chooses to resolve disputes through peaceful solutions in accordance with the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), he noted, adding that with a strong commitment to peace, the country has also deployed its personnel to UN peacekeeping missions.

Since its establishment, the CPV has led the country through various stages of struggle against colonialism and imperialism. In the late 1970s, the CPV supported the Cambodian People's Revolutionary Party in overthrowing the Pol Pot genocidal regime to regain peace for Cambodia, bringing a new life for Cambodian people and contributing to peace in the region.

In addition, as an active member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the UN, Vietnam, under the leadership of the CPV, has always valued peace and condemned acts of violence and war around the world, the Cambodian journalist stressed.

In the 10-minute talk show, the speaker spotlighted and analysed other strategic orientations in the article, especially the continued Party building and redtification for a clean and strong Party, the streamlining of the political system, and the promotion of sci-tech application and digital transformation in Party building.

Kola also expressed his admiration for Vietnam's flexible foreign policy under the CPV’s leadership in recent years. The country consistently maintains its non-participation in military alliances and non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations, while fostering cooperative relationships based on mutual respect, equality, and parity with global powers, including China, Russia, France, the UK, and the US./.
