National Lung Hospital announces successful lung transplants
On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Vietnam Doctors’ Day (February 27, 1955 – February 27, 2026), the National Lung Hospital announced major achievements in lung transplantation and advanced medical techniques, marking a significant milestone in the development of Vietnam’s respiratory medicine sector. In 2025, the hospital successfully performed eight lung transplants in accordance with the highest professional standards of the UCSF Medical Center (United States). These successes were achieved through close and coordinated cooperation among medical teams from the National Lung Hospital, E Hospital, the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center, Military Central Hospital 108, Bach Mai Hospital, Ba Ria General Hospital, Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital, Cho Ray Hospital, People’s Hospital 115, along with leading domestic and international experts—making lung transplantation a routine procedure in Vietnam.
