Red Dao women boast unique costumes
The Red Dao, a subgroup of the Dao ethnic minority people in the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang, is renowned for their colourful traditional costumes with unique decoration patterns. The Red Dao people are easily identifiable by their clothing in red, the colour that is believed to bring luck, happiness, prosperity and positive energy to everybody. The Red Dao women have a very unique way of embroidery which is not based on available patterns but their imagination, creating their own decorations of clothes, which cannot be confused with those of any other ethnic group.
