With its traditional rituals, beautiful customs, and sacred significance, the forest worship ceremony of the Mong ethnic community in Na Hau commune, Van Yen district, Yen Bai province, was officially recognised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2024, as part of Vietnam’s national intangible cultural heritage.

On December 22, 2024, the Politburo issued Resolution No.57 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, regarded as a resolution that aims to unleash Vietnam’s technological potential.

Politburo member, Secretary of the National Assembly (NA) Party Committee and Chairman of the NA Tran Thanh Man chaired a conference in Hanoi on February 27 to announce the establishment of 11 Party organisations under the NA Party Committee.

Vietnam is one of the countries with a relatively high percentage of persons with disabilities in the Asia-Pacific region and the world.

The resolution outlines a series of specific mechanisms and policies, including the mobilisation and allocation of investment capital; procedures for investing in urban rail projects and those based on the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) model; the development of the rail industry, technology transfer, and workforce training; policies on construction materials and waste disposal; and specific regulations for HCM City.

In their speeches, leaders of countries and international organisations emphasised ASEAN’s cooperation, solidarity, inclusivity, and resilience amid global uncertainties and significant transformations.

Seventy years ago, on February 27, 1955, President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter to a conference of medical workers across the country, encouraging them to uphold the noble principle of being “A good doctor is like an affectionate mother” and to unite in building a national healthcare system with the motto of “Science – National Identity – Public Service.” His words served as a guiding light for generations of medical professionals, urging them to dedicate themselves to the revolutionary cause and the well-being of the people.

He stressed that, in addition to effectively implementing the Party's resolutions on healthcare, it is essential to adopt a new mindset to remove barriers and bottlenecks, enabling the sector to advance in the coming period.

Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 23 chaired a conference announcing the Politburo and Secretariat's 2025 decision to inspect the Standing Boards of the Party Committees of Ho Chi Minh City, and Binh Duong, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau provinces.

To better support enterprises, the Prime Minister required the active, effective and concerted implementation of tasks and measures set out at the Government’s resolutions and the PM’s directions on sustainable development, the circular economy, sustainable production and consumption, energy conservation and efficiency, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and green growth.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called for efforts to accelerate economic growth quickly and sustainably, while ensuring macroeconomic stability, safeguarding social welfare, promoting social progress and equity, and protecting the environment.

The preparation of personnel for the Party congresses should adhere to established standards, prioritising individuals with integrity, strong political will, and a genuine commitment to the common good, said Prof. Tran Tuan Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

The Government held a law-making session in Hanoi on February 20 to discuss seven draft laws, each designed to introduce new and breakthrough regulations that will clear the path for future growth.

The Politburo directed the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission to continue working closely with Party committees and affiliated Party bodies to tackle obstacles arising during the implementation phase, ensuring strict adherence to the 13th-term Politburo’s Directive on the organisation of Party congresses at all levels in the lead-up to the 14th National Party Congress and the Politburo’s conclusion on adjustments to the Directive.

It is estimated that if low-value goods worth less than 1 million VND are subject to a 10% VAT rate, State budget revenue could increase by around 2.7 trillion VND (105.6 million USD).

The dispatch highlighted that the detailed allocation of the capital accounted for only 96.07% of the Government leader’s assigned target as of January 23, with some 84.84 trillion VND (3.32 billion USD) remaining unallocated across 26 central agencies and 48 localities.

According to the resolution, the construction of a modern and harmonious railway aims to meet the transport demand between Vietnam and China. The initiative is expected to serve as a catalyst for rapid and sustainable economic development along the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong economic corridor while strengthening national defence and security and promoting the industrialisation and modernisation, contributing to delivering on the targets and missions set at the documents of the 13th National Party Congress and the Party’s resolutions.

Le Minh Hoan and Vu Hong Thanh were elected as NA Vice Chairmen, while Mai Van Chinh and Nguyen Chi Dung as Deputy Prime Ministers.

The newly approved legislation, consisting of five chapters and 32 articles, will take effect from March 1 this year. The adoption follows discussions held on February 13 and 14.

According to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, as of February 14, 2025, provinces and cities across the country have provided support to eliminate 106,189 temporary and dilapidated houses, an increase of 5,552 houses compared to February 7, 2025.
