All six Vietnamese students won medals at the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2026 in China, including two golds, three silvers and one bronze.
At the 58th IChO, all four Vietnamese students secured gold medals, placing the country joint first with China and India in terms of the number of golds awarded.
Specifically, two gold medals were awarded to Ngo Hoang Minh, a 12th-grade student at Hanoi–Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, who placed second overall; and Nguyen Thai Minh, an 11th-grade student at the High School for Gifted Students under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi), who ranked 11th.
