Hanoi (VNA) – Vietravel Airlines announced on January 19 that it will inaugurate a Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh service on February 1, 2026, marking its first route linking to the north-central region.
The route will operate three flights daily in both directions, the airline said.
During the peak period of the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival in 2026, Vietravel Airlines plans to operate six – eight flights daily on the Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi route, three flights daily on the Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh routes; and two flights daily on the Ho Chi Minh City – Quy Nhon route.
The carrier will continue operating key tourist routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok (Thailand) and Phu Quoc, as well as the Hanoi – Da Nang route.
It is also ready to add night flights when operational conditions allow to meet increased travel demand during peak periods.
As of January 12, Vietravel Airlines had seen strong growth in bookings, particularly for the Tet period from February 14 to 22 (the 27th day of the 12th lunar month to the 6th day of the Lunar New Year).
On the Ho Chi Minh City – Quy Nhon and Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh routes, occupancy rates are approaching 100%, with many flights fully booked on several days. Major routes such as Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang have also reached over 70% seat occupancy early on.
To stimulate travel from the northern and central regions to the South, the airline is offering tickets starting from 1,000 VND (excluding taxes and fees) on flights from Hanoi, Vinh, Quy Nhon, and Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City from February 5 to 15, with seats available for booking on the airline’s official website.
In addition, it is enhancing sales and promotional policies across its other routes to improve passenger experience, including offering in-flight meal services on longer flights.

The airline is also coordinating with authorities to increase flight frequency—including night services where possible—to expand transport capacity for the Lunar New Year holiday./.
