Dedicated female health worker serving ethnic communities in Tung Vai highlands
Born and raised in a disadvantaged border mountainous area, and as a member of the Mong ethnic group, Hau Thi Mai deeply understands the difficulties local people face in accessing healthcare services. She is currently working at the Tung Vai Commune Health Station in Tuyen Quang province, while also serving as Secretary of the Youth Union in Lung Kho hamlet and Head of the Women’s Union in the same hamlet. Undeterred by long distances and rugged terrain, she travels daily to each household and village to disseminate disease prevention knowledge, guide residents in maintaining environmental hygiene, care for pregnant women and children, and encourage people to participate in vaccinations and regular health check-ups.
