Gia Lai
resolutely “declares war” on violations related to IUU regulations
Gia Lai’s
agricultural sector continues to implement Directive No. 32-CT/TW dated April
10, 2024, and relevant Government documents, taking firm and decisive action
against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. Measures include
enhancing communication to disseminate Vietnam’s fisheries laws to fishermen;
requiring all fishing vessels to install voyage monitoring systems; tightening
control of vessel arrivals and departures at fishing ports, river mouths and
coastal gateways; supervising fishing logs and compliance with designated
port-of-call requirements; and strengthening joint patrols among maritime law
enforcement forces, local authorities and neighbouring countries to promptly
detect, prevent and handle vessels showing signs of IUU fishing or illegal
operations in foreign waters. Photo: Vu Sinh – VNA
