Hmong women keep traditional craft alive through spinning, weaving and embroidery
Throughout their lives, Hmong women maintain a close connection with hemp, from birth until death. Hemp plays an important role in their daily lives, as well as in production and trade. Whether walking to a traditional market or taking a rest by the roadside, Hmong women can often be seen using their calloused hands to steadily spin hemp fibres, twist threads, and embroider and sew traditional clothing. This familiar and beautiful image reflects their diligence, patience and resilience. Photo: Pham Hau - VNA
