Rooftop solar power – A Solution for energy independence for people and businesses
Government Decree No. 135/2024/ND-CP on mechanisms and policies to encourage the development of self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power systems installed on buildings is considered an important solution. It helps reduce pressure on the power system while enabling people and businesses to better manage their energy costs. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in order to ensure energy security amid rising electricity demand, it is necessary to review and improve policies, streamline procedures, and create favorable conditions for the development of self-consumption rooftop solar systems and urgent power projects. The ministry also encourages people and businesses to save energy and use electricity efficiently during prolonged heatwaves that lead to surging power demand. Photo: Tran Viet – VNA
