Beijing (VNA) - A youth delegation of Vietnam attended a thematic presentation themed “Ho Chi Minh in China” in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on August 23 as part of the “Red Study Journey” programme 2026 for Vietnamese youth in China.
The presentation was delivered by Professor Hu Xianzhong, Director of the museum of youth movement history and archives of the Communist Youth League of China Central Committee.
The delegates explored documents, images and stories about President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary activities in China, and showed particular interest in places associated with his activities, including Guangzhou, Guilin, Kunming, Liuzhou, Longzhou and Chongqing.
Hu said that during his 30 years of overseas activities from 1911 to 1941, President Ho Chi Minh spent about 12 years in China. This was an important period in his revolutionary career, when he built forces, trained cadres, maintained contact with the revolutionary movement at home and strengthened ties with Chinese revolutionaries.
The delegates were particularly interested in President Ho Chi Minh’s self-learning ability and perseverance. According to Hu, the late Vietnamese leader spoke several foreign languages, most of which he learned by himself, and continued studying revolutionary theory, learning from experience and analysing developments despite difficult conditions.
For many young delegates, the presentation offered a systematic look at President Ho Chi Minh’s activities in China and a deeper understanding of the hardships endured by earlier generations.
Luong Ha Phuong, an official at the Party Committee’s office of Co Ba commune, Cao Bang province, said learning about these historical milestones firsthand helped young people better understand the sacrifices of previous generations and the value of Vietnam-China friendship.
Speaking to Vietnam News Agency correspondents in China, Nguyen Manh Thang, a member of the Hanoi Youth Union’s Executive Committee and Secretary of the Youth Union of Thuong Tin commune, said he was deeply moved by accounts of President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary activities in China.
The experience, he added, strengthened his sense of responsibility to continue their ideals through learning, self-improvement and dedication to the nation’s development in the new era.
The journey has helped turn knowledge previously encountered in books into vivid, tangible experiences, while encouraging the delegates to learn more about Vietnam-China relations, delegates said.
The experience also encourages Vietnamese youth to follow President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle, inherit the positive values of previous generations, contribute to national development and help further strengthen friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China./.
