A model for religious security and community cohesion in Gia Lai

The “Returning to Faith, Preserving Peace in Villages” model, which promotes the role of respected community members in Chu A Thai Commune, Gia Lai Province, has successfully encouraged more than 250 local residents to abandon the so-called “De-ga Protestantism” movement and return to mainstream religious practice. Mr. Siu Un has been one of the key figures fostering community unity, working closely with local police forces to maintain security and public order. In 2024, he was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee for his contributions to expanding the model, and was also commended by the Minister of Public Security for his outstanding achievements in the “All People Protect National Security” movement among ethnic minority communities in the Central Highlands during the 2018–2024 period.
