An Giang steps up measures to combat IUU fishing
In line with directives from the Party Central Secretariat, the Government, the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, An Giang provincial People’s Committee has directed local functional forces to strengthen inspection and control of fishing activities, step up communication to raise fishermen’s awareness of fisheries regulations and prohibited fishing areas, while facilitating vessel registration and the issuance of fishing licences in accordance with regulations.
