Applying AI to protect “green resources” on Ly Son island
The Management Board of the Ly Son Marine Protected Area (central
Quang Ngai province) has pioneered the application of artificial intelligence
(AI) and Phototransect technology to monitor coral reefs. Through the
Reefcloud.ai platform, transferred from the Australian Institute of Marine
Science (AIMS), underwater image data are accurately analyzed by AI, enabling
the creation of digital marine environmental maps and timely forecasting of
ecosystem changes. This demonstrates Vietnam’s technological mastery in
sustainable marine conservation. Photo: Phan Phuong – VNA
