Hanoi implements a new driving licence testing procedure
From July 1, 2026, Hanoi began conducting driving licence tests under the Ministry of Public Security’s new examination procedure. The computer-based traffic simulation test has been removed, and candidates now complete the theory test, the closed-course practical test, and the on-road driving test in sequence. According to the Hanoi Traffic Police Division, the revised procedure does not lower testing standards but is designed to better assess candidates’ practical driving competence, improve the quality of licensed drivers, and contribute to ensuring road traffic order and safety.
