Quang Tri border guards maintain strong presence in border areas to ensure people’s safety
Amid prolonged heavy rains, rising river and stream levels,
and the risk of flash floods and landslides in many border areas, the Quang Tri
Border Guard Command has implemented response measures under the “four
on-the-spot” motto, maintaining personnel and vehicles on 24-hour standby.
Local teams have stepped up inspections of areas at risk of landslides,
flooding and isolation, while coordinating with local authorities to
disseminate information and encourage residents to take preventive measures and
be ready for evacuation when necessary. As of noon on September 13, 2026, the
Lao Bao International Border Gate Border Guard Station and the A Vao Border
Guard Station had coordinated efforts to evacuate 143 households, comprising
460 people, from dangerous areas to safe shelters at the units. Photo by courtesy/VNA
