In recent years, Yellow Camellia has been widely cultivated in northern communes of Thai Nguyen Province such as Cho Don, Nghia Ta, Yen Thinh, Bach Thong and Ba Be. The plant has high economic value, especially its flowers, which sell for 350,000–500,000 VND per kilogram. Teacher Dinh Le Thu has been working at Bay Cua satellite school of Duong Hoa Primary School in Duong Hoa commune, Quang Ninh Province, dedicating 17 years to remote and disadvantaged areas. Despite hardships, long travel distances and language barriers - with all students belonging to the Dao ethnic group - she remains committed to her classroom, bringing knowledge to children in mountainous, isolated communities. She has received various awards, including a Certificate of Merit from the provincial People’s Committee and one from the Prime Minister for the 2024–2025 academic year, and was honored in the 2025 “Sharing with Teachers” program organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Youth Federation. Hanoi authorities have approved an urgent budget of 869 billion VND to upgrade the Thuy Phuong Canal, expected to revive the To Lich River by supplying clean Red River water through a gravity-flow design that is considered key to reducing operating costs. The project will replenish the To Lich River with a flow capacity of 5 m³/second, mitigate flooding risks in the Tay Ho Tay (west of the West Lake) area and nearby residential zones, ensure irrigation for about 35 hectares of farmland, and provide environmental benefits.
