Water pouring season returns to Son La
Son La province’s Muong La commune currently has 360 hectares cultivating rice on terraced rice fields. They are the local ethnic minorities’ characteristic way of rice cultivation. Each year from May to late July, during the planting season, the terraced rice fields don a new coat of young green rice plants and the glossy, reflective beauty of water on the fields. Under the sunlight, the terraces shimmer like giant mirrors, reflecting the blue sky, drifting clouds and surrounding green mountains, creating a breathtaking natural landscape that resembles a vast watercolor painting.
