Yellow Camellia helps farmers in Thai Nguyen escape poverty
In recent years, Yellow Camellia has been widely cultivated
in northern communes of Thai Nguyen Province such as Cho Don, Nghia Ta, Yen
Thinh, Bach Thong and Ba Be. The plant has high economic value, especially its
flowers, which sell for 350,000–500,000 VND per kilogram. Fresh fruits fetch
around 90,000 VND per kilogram and fresh leaves about 20,000 VND per kilogram.
The crop has helped increase household income and gradually lifted many local
farmers out of poverty. Photo by courtesy/VNA
