Contributors helping keep peace in southwestern border area
Ha Tien Ward has a land border stretching more than 14 km, adjacent to three communes of Kampong Trach district, Kampot province (Kingdom of Cambodia). On the opposite side of the border, many casinos are operating, attracting a large number of cross-border visitors and posing potential risks related to security, crime and social evils. Based on local realities, the Ha Tien Ward Police have advised the Party committee and local authorities to establish the “Mobile Civil Defence Team for Communication and Prevention of Crime and Social Evils along the Border Line,” contributing to maintaining security and order along the border and gradually building a strong people-based security posture at the grassroots level.
