Vietnam’s Engineering Unit Rotation 4 departed Hanoi on September 26 for the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA). Nam Chien hydropower plant is located about 40km from Son La hydropower plant in Ngoc Chien and Chieng Muon communes, Son La province. The plant has an installed capacity of 200MW capacity including 2 generators, with a total reservoir capacity of 154 million cubic litres of water. The dam is a reinforced concrete arch dam with a height of 138 metres and the length of the dam crest is 273 metres, which is considered the most difficult dam to build in Vietnam. The national achievement exhibition, themed “80 Years of Independence – Freedom – Happiness,” will officially wrap up on the evening of September 15 with a grand closing ceremony and a concert titled “I Love My Homeland,” held at the Vietnam Exposition Centre in Dong Anh commune, Hanoi. Through the ups and downs of history, Red Dao people still preserve numerous distinct traditional customs, among them, the wedding ceremony is rich in cultural and historical depth, as well as its strong communal spirit. On the day of the ceremony, the bride often wears traditional costumes with many sophisticated and complicated elements. Meanwhile, the groom’s delegation, including a matchmaker, the groom, people carrying gifts and dowry, and a band playing trumpets, drums, gongs, and cymbals, welcomes the bride.
